Meditation itself does not cause you to enlighten. Thus far, it seems it is the physical presence of an enlightened teacher that causes the enlightenment to occur. With the teacher's intention, karma is corrected and balance is restored. Meditation is a great way to stay focused as well as a powerful self investigation process.
