My first wife and I were high school sweet hearts. Married at age 22, we made every fatal mistake you could make. From living selfishly, to putting all of our energy into our partner, we explored every extreme of how to be in love with no results. The less intimate we were, the more each of us distanced ourselves from the relationship. It got to the point where neither of us knew why we married. Then things got really complicated. She became pregnant with our first child in the middle of a break up - get back together phase. We stayed together through the birth, thinking this child would solve our issues. It did not. In the first year of my son Trevor's life I moved out and asked for a divorce.
