Today Dr. Hawkins daily quote said, “In truth, we exist and survive, not because of the ego, but in spite of it.”
I often wonder if spiritual people are actually just resigned and they’re using their spirituality as their reason for not creating the life that they dream of. I know that I have many, many times said to
myself, “Well, you know, I’m just practicing being spiritual.” But my life sucked. My life was a disaster. And I’ve found that when I take responsibility for my life being amazing and I bring spiritual principles to each and every category of my life, what happens is my ability to be spiritual is just phenomenal and I’m just out of control with happiness and peace.
Are you using your spirituality as a cop out, a way in which you don’t have to be responsible for making your life amazing? I’d be willing to bet that there are places you’re doing that. Cut it out. Start using your spiritual principles to actually make your life extraordinary everywhere. Ultimately, a spiritual person is someone who is extremely responsible. Is that you?

I have a client that says, “Matthew, how do I get other people to see the light, man? I want them to get into ridiculous bliss with me. So many people, they are just pissed off and miserable and they are agitated and negative and they are stuck. I want to help people get out of that.”
You can’t help people when you think that way. You can’t come from a place of righteousness. “I’m right and you’re wrong” does not work.
People will see the light in you. When you are accepting. When you are appreciative. When you are honoring. When you’re open. When you are practicing total and complete acceptance of all people in all situations at all times, including yourself. Well, guess what, people will be attracted to that. And the people who see the light will want to be around you and the people who don’t see the light won’t want to be around you.
So, stop trying to convert people and just know that everybody is on their own path. Everybody is doing the best they can. Nobody is doing anything wrong. That’s just your opinion. So consider that you’re judging people for being negative. Well, that’s like being negative about being people who are being negative, so cut that out. Just let people be the way they are.

Spirituality is relationship to existence. Money can be a part of this existence if you want it to be. Your relationship with money can either be positive or negative depending on how you choose to view it.

Do you want more goodness to come into your life? More unbelievably exciting and energizing good things?
Then you’ve got to detach, allow and receive. Simple as that. You need to detach from needing the result of things to be the way you want. You’ve got to allow life to be the way that it is! Then you are open to receive whatever it is that’s coming. So, in other words, you don’t want to think that the way life is is wrong. That’s not allowing life to be the way that it is. You get attached when you say, “Well, life should be this way, and if it isn’t my way, then I don’t like it.” Those kinds of attitudes actually stop the flow. You need to detach from your outcome. You want that outcome, and you’re committed to it, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Allow the world to be the way that it is and then receive the goodness that comes from that and watch what happens; it’s amazing.

As an Inspired Action life coach, I’m constantly working with my big players to get into this moment. In the moment there is nothing to fear. There is no negativity in the present moment. So they always ask, “How do you get into the present moment?” The practice is one of letting go and focusing.
1. Let go of the future.
The future is not real. There is no future coming. The Drunk Monkey obsesses over the future because that’s its job. In order to keep you safe and alive longer it tries to anticipate what is coming. No peace, no love, no fulfillment lives in the future. When The Drunk Monkey is obsessing over it. Just thank the monkey for trying to keep you safe and go to step three.
2. Let go of the past.
The past does not exist. The past is just your opinion. Every time you see life from a new perspective The Drunk Monkey rewrites your past. Contrary to The Drunk Monkey’s opinion, the past is unreliable and not useful. When you notice the monkey obsessing over the past, thank the monkey for worrying and go to step three.
3. Appreciate everything about now.
Focus on the beauty all around you. Notice how interesting people are. Appreciate the smallest details. Marvel at how things work. Take deep breaths and smell the strange, interesting and pleasant smells around you. Judge nothing. Just observe with a childish wonder. Try it today and notice what happens.
Happiness and peace only reside in this moment.
