It is interesting how The Drunk Monkey takes over your spirituality and tells you that not making money is somehow righteous and spiritual.
Its a double-edged sword. When you don’t make any money, life is a lot more difficult and you must use your spiritual principles just to maintain basic happiness in the middle of unworkability.
Consider: The Drunk Monkey takes over your spirituality and uses it as your reason for not confronting your fears and manifesting your desires. Instead of reaching your full potential, full creation as a human being, you cower and hide behind a mask of righteous spirituality.
What’s your opinion on this?
“Working with Matthew for one hour is like going to a year of therapy, reading 1/3 of the self-help section of the bookstore, and getting a 360-degree review of your life in a compact package. What you did for me today will truly allow me to raise to a whole new level of performance and vibration for the planet, and I’m so very happy to be in the beauty of my life with someone who can kick my Jedi ass! You Rock!”

Are you stuck in a mediocre life? A client recently said, “I’ve made it OK that I live a mediocre, sucky life and that I have settled for less than I could be.”
In the Inspired Action Coaching process I start by addressing the fact that this is a fantasy. Mediocre… sucky… settled… compared to what? When did you sit down and map out the standards that you are holding yourself to? I don’t think you did. I think you accidentally adopted these hurtful ways of thinking about yourself. You have no evidence that any of it is true.
All you have is your opinion. Did you generate this opinion, or did The Drunk Monkey hit you over the head with it? If you really pay attention, you will see that The Drunk Monkey in your head is automatically generating thoughts without your permission. Don’t believe me? Tell your mind to stop thinking thoughts and see what happens. It’s not in your control and it definitely doesn’t like you.
Today notice how there are two people in your head. The Drunk Monkey who never shuts up and someone listening.
The quickest way to feeling joy in your life is to stop paying attention to The Drunk Monkey (your mind). Life is so much more enjoyable when you don’t pay too much attention to the rambling bumbling insanity in your head. Today just focus on the beauty that is all around you. Pay attention to air on your skin, the sun on your face or the smell of flowers. When you do, you will feel joy. When you feel joy, life is easy, effortless and enjoyable. Isn’t that what you want?

The answer is NONE. External factors have nothing to do with how you feel. Two people can be in the exact same situation and feel completely different. Bliss, which is defined as supreme happiness, is the natural feeling state of “no mind”. The mind which I lovingly call The Drunk Monkey uses negative feelings to mobilize the body and move it away from potentially dangerous situations.
When you are feeling bliss it is because you are present to the notion that all is well in your life, nothing needs to change, nothing needs to improve and life is good. This start is a discipline created by an awareness of the Drunk Monkey followed by a transending of the Drunk Monkey. Transending the Drunk Monkey means you see it for what it is and no longer give it any value or meaning in your life. Try this free 20 minute meditation I created called All is Well and tell me how you feel afterwards.
