The World as You Know It Doesn’t Exist

There is no world out there.

Not at least the world you experience.  Yes, there is something out there, but what you are experiencing isn’t it.  What you are experiencing is your opinion, your perception and your conditioning.  How you relate to the world is what the world is for you.  Two people can be in the exact same situation and have completely different experiences.

Are there atoms, electrons and such out there in the world? Apparently science is getting a better grasp on that.  But it takes multimillion dollar machines to see what is really going on in the world.  So the actual reality is not something humans have day-to-day access to.  You and I have access to the information our senses bring in to our consciousness.

Why is this relevant?

Your husband isn’t really a jerk.  That’s just your opinion.  Not the truth.

The president isn’t actually doing anything you say he is.  That’s just your perception of the situation.

The world isn’t all screwed up.  That’s just the way you see it.

There is nothing to fear.  That’s just a biological reaction to the stimulus in the environment.  Other people aren’t afraid of the same things you are.  Therefore you fear is not real or the truth.

Today see the world for what it really is, just your opinion.  Notice how much more relaxed and enjoyable life is.

Inspiration Versus Force

istock_000005970686mediumInspiration is far more powerful and productive then force and manipulation.  When you are inspired, you are naturally in action, which produces exponential results. When you are afraid that what you want is not coming, you become forceful and that makes everything you try more difficult.  All fear is an illusion.  There is very little in your life that is actually dangerous.

Awareness makes you flexible which reveals new options and leads to power.  I call this The Game Changer.  Using The Game Changer process, you will get into a clear-minded place.  You will realize that all is well, everything you want is coming and there is no need to push or force.  One of the master skills in life is to relax and let it flow.  From this naturally blissful place, inspiration arises and you find yourself in massive action towards your most cherished dreams.  Goals that you had put off in the “someday” category suddenly become today’s priorities.

Recovering Success-aholic

As the economy squeezes most people today, many are rethinking their lives.  Many of my clients are discovering that they are success-aholics.  Addicted to the success that was so easy to achieve during the boom times.  Yet, now that things are different, life isn’t so easy and many are reconsidering their priorities.

Many success addicts find themselves working twice as hard for half the results today.  If that’s you, then it’s time to channel some of that energy into other areas of your life that will bear more fruit.

In my Inspired Action Coaching process, I ask people to prioritize the following 10 categories:

  1. Physical Body
  2. Spiritual Relationship
  3. Mindset
  4. Family
  5. Primary Relationship (spouse/partner)
  6. Business
  7. Personal Finances
  8. Social Life
  9. Contributions
  10. Recreation

Then I ask you to rate your level of satisfaction in each category on a scale from 1-10.  One being not satisfied and ten being totally satisfied.  Finally I ask you to create two or three objectives in each category that, if they were achieved, would make that category a 10.

Doing this exercise on a quarterly basis creates creates more balance, peace and satisfaction.  A little side note: After doing this exercise with more then 8000 people for over 16 years I can tell you that most people achieve 70% of what they write.  Isn’t that encouraging?

Difficult or Easy… Is it a Choice?

istock_000004003533mediumSeems easy enough.  Choose to make life easy, right?  Wrong!  Be honest.  How many times have you chosen something knowing it would make your life difficult later?  Consider that action is hardly ever a choice.

Notice today how your reactions to life’s situations are automatic.  Most of the time you can not choose to make life easy because you are unconscious of what is running your life… The Drunk Monkey!

The Drunk Monkey, which is also called the personality, the ego or your unconscious mind is an unexamined set of habitual ways of viewing the world.  These various points of view are the source of your action.

The only way out of this automatic reaction mode is what I call, “The Game Changer Process”:

  1. You need to become aware of your reactions.
  2. Once you become aware of what doesn’t serve you, you naturally become more flexible.
  3. Your flexibility opens up a whole new set of options.
  4. Options give you power.

Try it today.  Notice how your behavior is automatic.  See the source of your action as “the way you are seeing the situation”.  Begin to see your life’s situations in new and interesting ways.  Feel your new power to choose a life that is easy.

Anger is Not a Choice

istock_000001624654smallMost powerful people mistakenly believe that anger is a choice.  With further examination and attention to the matter you will see that the body reacts to potential threats automatically.  To control the answer and turn it into something positive you need to do the following:

a.  Notice the body reacting negatively.  Most positive people avoid negative feelings.  A more powerful thing to do is to feel them completely to understand the feeling.  Rather than resisting it or denying it, feel it fully from a detached observer point of view.

b.  Step back and see the whole situation.  See the upsetting situation from all points of view and notice that the anger, fear etc dissipates quickly.

In the anger is automatic.  Happiness, peace, joy and all the other positive emotions are chosen.

How Happy People Deal with Anger

Happy people remember that anger is nothing more then a hallucination that danger is present.  Happy people see The Drunk Monkey (the mind) doing its job and moving us away from what might hurt us.  Happy people recognize that there is very little danger in the world.  Happy people understand that…

- Being embarrassed is not dangerous
- Looking stupid is not going to kill you
- Having your opinion contradicted is not a threat
- Not getting what you want is no big deal

Happy people seek to live in the truth.  The Drunk Monkey is in a constant state of assuming, assessing, and hallucinating.  Thoughts are not the truth.  Thoughts are just assumptions and hallucinations.  Happy people don’t trust their thoughts.
