Experiencing Peace During Financial Breakdown

How do you stay in a good place when you’re in financial breakdown? If you go into a bad place, you’re freaked out, scared, resentful, agitated, well, your ability to get out of the breakdown is greatly thwarted. It’s imperative that you work on getting into an optimal, optimistic, joyous state when you are in financial peril.

Now, that’s not easy to do. What I recommend that you do is, first of all, you work to accept the situation exactly as it is. So often people are in a blame game. They’re never saying, “Well, listen, I’m the one who said yes. I’m the one who made those decisions. I signed my name on the line there. I’m the one who went into this not thinking about, you know, what are the potential risks. When I signed up for this, I knew there were going to be risks.” So often we’re not owning it and saying, “Wait it was me. I did this.”

But I’ll tell you right now, one of the ways to feel good in the middle of a breakdown is to own it and say, “You know what? I did this. I made this happen. This financial disaster is me.” You do that, you start to feel good again. You start to feel powerful. You realize you’re the creator of your experience.

Another trick to staying in good spirits while you are in the middle of financial breakdown is to make sure that you forecast out what is the worst possible thing that could happen to you in this particular breakdown and you make peace with it. If you will fantasize what is the worst possible thing and then you make peace with that, you will be at peace now in the process, and that’s the goal.

Peace in Crisis Creates Magic

Over The Top!One of my very powerful clients has been fighting for her financial life.  To make things worse, she started having marriage trouble as well.  Funny how those so often go together.

She has been resisting everything.  “I will not allow myself to be a loser!  I’ve never been broke and I’m not about to start at age 58!!” she would spit with venom through her teeth at me.  I kept encouraging her to surrender.  Often people misunderstand that word.  In my world, surrender doesn’t mean to lie down and give up.  Surrender means to quit fighting with the wave that you are caught up in, relax, regroup and get ready for the inspiration that follows.

When you are out in the ocean and a big wave hits you, you can fight it but you won’t win.  The key is to relax completely and output zero energy.  When you do, the opportunity to surface will present itself and when it does you will have the energy to take it.

Same with life.  When you go into a calm peaceful state, opportunities present themselves and suddenly magic occurs.

My client finally surrendered.  She faced her fears of becoming financially drowned and her marriage dying.  She realized that she would be okay either way.   As soon as she let go and let God, magic started happening everywhere.  Money started trickling in again, which gave her hope.  Her new peaceful state started creating more communication between her and her husband and things started to mend.  Magic!

What are you resisting?  Who are you resisting?

Negativity is Awesome!

istock_000000212759smallWithout negativity you would not know what you truly want. Negativity is a teacher.

Even more exciting is the fact that negative experiences are leading to positive ones. When you are creating something new, you must mess up what you have and reorganize it.

The Drunk Monkey (your mind) resists change and new projects. Going to the next level creates massive change. The change is not familiar. Unfamiliar is uncomfortable. Uncomfortable is often regarded as negative. Go Negativity! Negativity means something good is happening. Roll with it.

What does it mean to be prosperous?

The goal of the prosperous person is to have rich experiences in every aspect of life.  Prosperity is more of an experience one has and not necessarily an accumulation of stuff. When you are prosperous, you experience an abundance of goodness and well-being in all aspects of your life.

Prosperity is distinct from being rich.  Being rich generally means your focus is on the accumulation of wealth and money. When you choose to be prosperous, your focus is more holistic and less materialistic.  You can have a lot of material things and still feel poor or like you have not arrived yet.  A prosperous person strives to be whole, complete and satisfied with every aspect of life.

Here are ten aspects I have my clients focus on: physical well-being, mental health, spiritual, family, primary relationship (spouse/partner), business (how you make money), finances (what you do with the money you make), your social life, recreation and the contributions you make.

An inspiring way to deal with bankruptcy and failure

Long time friend and client Carlos Justo had an epic rise to the top in Miami real estate and came crashing down into bankruptcy. In the spirit of contribution, he’s committed to using his own life as an example of how to deal with life’s ups and downs with grace and confidence.

Life Coaching has her Accelerating while others are retracting

Just got off the phone with a client in the Inspired Action Coaching. She is having a great week as a Financial Adviser for Morgan Stanley. Despite the financial meltdown, she just had the most productive week of the year. She got more new business in the last week then she had all year. Now this woman is no slacker. She is one of the top people in her firm and yet, she is finally understanding the words Inspired Action.

It seems like the rest of the world is retracting and you are accelerating. I asked her, what is source of this incredible surge of business? This was her response.

1. “I am a clear-minded individual today. After working the Inspired Action Principles for a year, I am inspired. This inspires my clients and prospective clients who have been quite afraid. My inspiration represents hope. Hope is a rare commodity right now.

2. From my own coaching experience, I can see clearly that breakdown is the beginning of breakthrough. I can communicate this to my clients with certainty because I’ve lived the principle myself. My personal breakdowns have turned into breakthroughs with the coaching. My certainty helps my clients to relax into their financial breakdown.

3. I set the intention to have more business in the meltdown than I ever have before. My own experience tells me that breakdown is the beginning of breakthrough so I’ve started being proactive about breakdown and trusting that it will lead to good fortune.

4. I am thinking about how I can best serve my clients. Most of my associates are in panic and fear. Which means they are only thinking of their own survival. With my coach’s support, I am confident and that allows me to be of service and be proactive”

Question: Are you accelerating or retracting?
