As a life coach, part of my job is to hold my clients accountable to the goals they have set. Every year we create a vision for what the year is going to be like. Then I work with them to create quarterly goals which I measure and monitor for them. Most of my clients can achieve between 70-80% of what they write down, even when it seems like a stretch at the time.
Recently a client of mine only achieved 48%. I wasn’t shocked. He had spent the entire quarter in fear and avoiding facing the financial disasters he had created for himself. The more he avoided, the worse everything else in his life seemed to get. When you are avoiding what you don’t want, you bring it upon you.
The benefit of measuring your goals is the feedback. When you see yourself achieving so little, it wakes you up and makes you open to seeking the truth.
The truth is you make yourself ineffective and inoperable when you are in a retracted avoidance state and your dreams will allude you.
