Do I Quit My Job or Go For The Gold?

A client wrote in,

“Hi Matthew, What do I do, I’ve been working this job that I really like but it’s strictly commission until I get my first deal, then I get hourly plus commission which is good.  I’ve got several clients on the edge interested in paying for our services but no one has signed up yet. This is a job that I really like, it gives me flexibility, I enjoy it and want to continue working, but I’m pretty much out of money and getting behind on my bills. How long do I continue towards my goal in the face of losing everything?  How do I know if I’m going in the right direction?  I know anything could change at any moment but if things don’t change soon, my situation could become really uncomfortable.  Do I just go get a more secure job and give up my flexibility and what I want to do?”

I’m not a big fan of creating stress.  For some people it really works.  For most it seems to kill their mindset and subsequently their performance.  I would advise three things.

1.  Sit down with your boss and get an honest assessment of your performance and what you can expect.

2.  Consider getting a part-time job that will still give you time to fill your pipeline and make the sales you want.

3.  Consider cutting everything nonessential out of the budget to give yourself more time to make that first sale.

Manifesting is infinitely easier when you are in a calm peaceful state.  Running out of money puts you into a panic which makes you attached to the outcome and ultimately leads to being manipulative.  If you are truly committed to making it work, then make what you have now work in your life so you can be at ease.

    Hi Matthew,
Before I tell you the amazing results, I want to ask you a question. In the manifestation process is it true that you shouldn’t celebrate or talk about the outcome until it happens? I’ve seen people celebrate before the deal was done many times and not have the deal workout.
Through out my years on the spiritual journey, it’s been said that you should keep your desires that you are working on manifesting a secret so it’s doesn’t get influenced by others. Well that’s why it took me so long to write back. I did what you told me, I had a talk with my boss and he gave me a real assessment of my progress and what to expect and even gave me an old sales rep’s database! Cha-Ching! My first deal came in today! i couldn’t pay my december’s tuition payment for my acting school and I was able to work out an agreement to work part time at the acting academy in exchange for payment. I also have a 3rd part time job at night for a few hours. I’m not out the frying pan yet but things are definitely moving in a great direction.
Once again you’v made a tremendous positive impact on my life and I am very thankful and grateful. I wish to manifest the funds to pay for your coaching program. I’ve been writing my intentions and delegations more and more frequently.
