The Perfect Game

I haven’t seen The Yes Man with Jim Carey yet but I’m looking forward to it.  Apparently it is eerily similar to my process called “The Perfect Game”.  To get into the spirit of it all here are the instructions and a video.

Here is the description from my best selling book Creating Sales Velocity

The “Perfect” Game

The “Perfect” Game is a discipline. It acknowledges fully that you are the creator of your experience. It acknowledges that nothing comes to you that your thoughts/vibrations haven’t attracted. Your dominant thoughts are bringing to you exactly what you desire. You just have to get out of the way. Here are the rules:

1. Whatever is offered, take it.

This is such an important rule. First of all, it allows the whole world of people whom you contribute to, to contribute back to you. Nothing gives people more satisfaction than being able to contribute. When you allow people to contribute to you, they allow you to contribute to them. It’s the Law of Reciprocity. As a Conscious Salesperson, you are in the business of contributing your product or service. The people in your life, including your clients, would love nothing more than to tell everyone they know about what you do. You must use the Law of Reciprocity to your advantage. Allow others to give to you and they will allow you to give to them.
Second, when you simply accept whatever is offered to you, the excitement in your life accelerates massively.

Suddenly you are receiving all sorts of magical gifts that you never would have dreamed would come your way. And because you are going to follow the third rule of the “Perfect” Game, you will find yourself enjoying all sorts of new things and experiences that will make you feel more alive than you have ever been.

All that you have been thinking about is on its way to you the moment you think of it. The problem for most of us is that we stop the universe dead in its tracks with our doubts. This discipline of accepting what is offered acknowledges that the universe will deliver whatever we are focused on. Keep remembering that you must detach yourself from the way your visions are supposed to look and turn out.

Here’s an example. A couple years back I got it in my head that I wanted a Ferrari for free. I told my wife that I was going to play a game with the universe. I was going to begin thanking the universe, in advance, for a free Ferrari. About two months latter, my father called me out of the blue and offered to give me his new wife’s Lexus sport sedan. He already had three amazing cars and she was going to drive one of them now that they were married.
Of course, because I play the “Perfect” Game, I accepted the car on the spot. A week after driving the car it occurred to me in a meditation that the Lexus had the essence of what a Ferrari represented to me. It was fast, slick looking, and very luxurious. It wasn’t the Ferrari by any means, yet everything I thought the Ferrari would be was represented in the car. And best of all … it was free.

2. Whatever is suggested, do it.

Wow! Can you feel the adventure your life is becoming by taking on this discipline? You will now begin experiencing the things you have always wanted to experience but have never had the courage to really ask for. The universe can’t wait to deliver on your every desire.

The discipline of doing whatever is suggested continues your quest for flexibility. It assists you in appreciating all that life has to offer. It opens up the possibilities of what you feel is acceptable. The more you open up to differences, the more power you have as a Conscious Salesperson. You truly amplify the energy of attraction when you find joy in all that is suggested to you. Remember that you are the one who is attracting these suggestions, so go for it and live your life to the fullest. As you do, you are becoming a magnet for abundance. Abundance flows to those who are having the most fun!

3. Whatever happens, declare it perfect.

This is the culmination of everything we have been talking about. Go with the flow. Release your opinion of how things are supposed to be and instead enjoy what they are. Give up all your rules about how things have to be in order for you to enjoy them. Give up all the restrictions around what must happen for life to be right. Give up the constant comparing: “This is good, this is bad!” These are all just arbitrary points of view. Looking at it from a different perspective gives you a different judgment. Declaring everything “Perfect!!!” gives you joy and freedom in each new moment. You are becoming the calming person in every situation, which means you are a leader. People follow leaders, and becoming a Conscious Salesperson ultimately means you are a great leader. People trust you when you can make anything and everything okay. Playing the “Perfect Game” does just that.

Playing the “Perfect” Game for one month means you will have the most amazing, tantalizing, extraordinary month of your life! Miracles occur as you “accept” whatever is happening and declare everything “perfect!” You’ll find yourself lit up, alive, and invigorated while playing this game. That feeling is the most attractive feeling a human being can have. You are sending out the message of abundance! Abundance is flying at you right this very second, Just thinking about the game and the possibilities causes it to happen!

Can you read people?

I just had a discussion with my gym partner. He mentioned that after 15 years of being a sales person, he can tell what type of person someone is as soon as he meets them.

I completely disagree.

I’ve been in sales for 19 years and I’ve trained tens of thousands of sales people. I have noticed that The Drunk Monkey (your mind) is designed to judge, assess and generalize as a safety measure.

You judge people by their facial expressions, clothes, posture etc. You assess the surroundings and the context of your interaction with them and then you process all that data in milliseconds and compare it to the past. The Drunk Monkey then feeds you a generalization about who this person is and what you can expect.

The problem is that you are now pretending to know who this person is. But you don’t.

You can not know somebody’s insides by looking at their outsides.

In my sales training I ask you to stay neutral and find out who the person really is. Ask questions, be curious and engage the mystery. Don’t be quick to jump to conclusions. Your conclusions are just speculation.

To be influential, you must seek to understand someone and move into a state of total acceptance with them. As you do that you will gain deep knowledge of their desires. Now you have the capacity to advise them powerfully.

Why are you here on Earth?

In my opinion.

To have fun!

To take life to the next level.

To enjoy yourself.

And what is so fun about being here on Earth? Destruction, chaos and disasters.  Why?

Because destruction is the beginning of creation.  Your greatest moments follow your greatest hardships.  Breakdown is the beginning of breakthrough.  Ultimately success is nothing more then a series of well-managed breakdowns.

5 Practices to Foster Inner Peace (part 1)

Anything other then harmony, happiness and peace is ultimately just a state of mind.  The more you understand the mind, which I lovingly call The Drunk Monkey, the more inner peace you will have.

But! There is another way.  Through intentional practices, you can get past The Drunk Monkey’s insanity and get into a harmonious and peaceful state.

So the question is, “If you are not going to be The Drunk Monkey’s Puppet, then what are you going to be?”  Here are some ideas.

Practice One: Be patient.

Nothing messes with your peace faster then getting upset because things aren’t moving fast enough.  Hello!  You are going to die no matter how fast you get things done!  The Drunk Monkey believes that if you accomplish a lot of things, then you will be significant, better etc.  Not true.  You will be more accomplished but no better off.  Inner peace is the acknowledgment that all is well now.  Nothing needed.

To implement more patience in your life today do the following:

Be tolerant and understanding of others.  People are doing the best they can.  Nobody has a crystal ball.  No one knows that you are in a hurry.  No one cares that you are in a hurry.  Just relax and know that what you want is coming and there is no need to push.

Allow life to be just the way it is.  No amount of lamenting is going to change the fact that life is just what it is.  Your anger, your resentment and your forceful manipulation only mess with YOUR peace.  Let it go.  Accept life just as it is today and notice what happens.

Know that what you want is coming and all there is to do is accept “the now” as perfect and be patient.  If you are reading this post, then you are someone who always gets what you want eventually in one form or another.  Don’t worry about it.  Don’t back down, just don’t freak out.  Get what you want but with more flexibility and less forcefulness.

Action is POINTLESS without an empowering context

So many of my clients are action oriented.  They set goals and attach them with massive intensity.  And that works to a point.  But it doesn’t create a life and a business that is easy, effortless and enjoyable.

To accelerate your life and your goals with far less work, create an empowering context.

In other words, what is the experience you seek in the results you are chasing?  More happiness, more acceptance, more fulfillment?

The Inspired Action coach’s job is to help you achieve this experience of an empowering context now, not someday.  When you feel fulfilled now, without the results, your results are exponential.  One does not equal one.  One equals eleven.  Taking action before defining your context just makes everything hard and never satisfying.  What you want is the feeling/being state so skip the results and feel the way you want to feel first.  The results will naturally follow.

Ask yourself these three questions about your goals to get to the experience you want:

1.  What’s important about your goal?

2.  How is answer #1 important to you?

3.  Ultimately, what will all of that do for you?

You’ll find that you get to answers like happiness, peace of mind, joy etc.  Now begin to look for how you can create those experiences in everything you do.  Next thing you know you are feeling fulfilled now verses someday in the future.  Results multiply in those conditions.
